NATIONAL

NEW PROJECTS:
   
1.    Restore the Blue Star Marker
   
2.    Educate community members about National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Backyard Habitat Certification  

CONTINUING PROJECTS:

    1. Contribute to Natural Disaster Fund and Seeds for Life
   
2. Contribute in escrow each month to the City of Hondo for the development of the Nature Trail
   
3. Celebrate National Garden Week in June
   
4. Plan litter control campaign in April
        Sponsor youth projects and activities
    5. Educate members about National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Backyard Habitat Certification  

STATE

CONTINUING PROJECTS:
   
1.    Award Life Membership
   
2.   Contribute to Brookwood Community Garden Therapy, Camp Tyler Foundation, Keystone Heritage Park, Nature Conservancy of Texas, Penny
   
     Pines, Rio Grande Wildlife Corridor, Riverside Nature Area, Kerrville, and  Marbridge Farms
   
3.   Contribute to Headquarters Endowment Fund and State Scholarship Fund
   
4.    Plant a tree and conduct a program during Arbor Day Season  

DISTRICT VII

CONTINUING PROJECTS:

1.       Youth Projects:

·         Collaborate with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Junior High students for Arbor Day Program

·         Contribute to District Scholarship Fund

·         Sponsor Litter Control Pick-up with Junior High School students

·         Sponsor youth in Medina County Fair Queen Contest

·.      Continue club commitment to community betterment

      ·   Maintain flower beds at City Park entrance  

       LOCAL

NEW PROJECTS:

·    Work with Hondo ISD to maintain landscape at Barry Field

·       Work with City and all volunteers to begin work on the Nature Trail

CONTINUING PROJECTS

·       Stress conservation to members and to the community   through programs, newspaper articles, tips at each meeting and through individual actions.

·   Operate Hondo Garden Club Thrift Shop on a year- round basis to support the club’s projects and to benefit the community. 

·     Distribute tray favors and bingo prizes to two nursing centers.

·     Furnish and plant a tree in the community during Arbor Day season with participation of Boy Scouts and/or Girl Scouts and Junior High Students.

·     Conduct a citywide clean-up campaign in the spring of each year.

·      Sponsor youth projects in local school.
